How to play:
You are the Labyrinth is a deckbuilding game where your goal is to strengthen the Minotaur by defeating enough of the heroes that wander into the Labyrinth. Only so many heroes enter each level of the Labyrinth, so if too many fall to your traps or find an exit, your Minotaur will not be strong enough to move to the next level, and the current level will restart.
The Minotaur can also be slain by the heroes, so as Daedalus, you must move the walls of your Labyrinth and invoke the will of Poseidon to keep the beast safe while vanquishing the minions of King Minos. After completing each level, you will add new cards to your Labyrinth deck.
Turn order:
1. Play cards until your Favor is spent.
2. Heroes move equal to their move and attack the Minotaur if they’re adjacent to it.
3. The Minotaur moves and attacks heroes if it’s adjacent to them.
4. Draw a new hand and regain Favor.
A few details about the inner workings of the Labyrinth:
- Traps trigger when heroes or the Minotaur walk over them.
- Traps have durability that goes down every time they trigger.
- Treasures lure heroes based on line of sight. Heroes move directly to them and pick them up. Greedy adventurers will even prioritize this over fleeing the Labyrinth.

Narrative:
Pasiphae and Poseidon meet with Daedalus and shame him for building the Labyrinth in which her innocent son, the Minotaur, has been banished. Poseidon is still furious with King Minos for refusing to sacrifice the bull, and then burying his problem away, and seeks to punish the king further. Poseidon strikes a bargain with the genius inventor. “Use your Labyrinth to protect the banished child from Minos’ warriors. Allow the beast to grow strong enough to defeat its destined rival, and I will grant you a son.”
